When we arrived in our hotel in Bangkok, I noticed a strange button on the remote control for the TV. Was it quick access to a Thai porn channel? No, it was merely the brightness / contrast control.
What can you say? :)

There are a few of these types of rude English we've seen on our travels. In Japan you could buy a choc bar called 'Colon cream' mmmmm and we also spotted a cafe called, 'cafe spazio', i've got photographic evidence of that one, which i'll publish in good order.

In Vietnam, Natrang, we spotted a hotel called 'Phu Que' and its sister hotel called 'Phu Que 2', there was also a 'Phu Que 3', but thats just plain silly.

That's right, ooh ooh, just been to see King Kong and it was apetastic :) Alright, it starts a little slowly, takes say 40 mins to get to the island, but from the island to the end of the film it's full on!!! The cg and special effects are absolutely amazing and they're pretty much constant, New York from the 30's loooks amazing, I got vertigo really badly at the end when Kong's on the Empire state, got some nice sweaty palms cause of the vertigo! No spoilers here, but there are dinasaurs in this version and there's tons of em, just check out the trailer below... Make sure you see this at the cinema to do it justice, I'm sure there will be some of you out there that will want to poo-poo it in some way, but in my opinion, it's a wicked bit of cinema that had me laughing out loud, cause it was just so mental :)

Games, games, games.....

Been playing some games in the last few days, haven't played for a while due to Psp addiction and trying to get ready to go traveling in the new year. The last couple of days has seen Chem revisiting the battlefield, namely Battlefield 2 and Counter-Strike. Eagle eyed viewers amongst you will spot my mate Andys sweet, sweet face in the picture on the left. One of the great things about CS is being able to spray 'Tags' where ever you want and they can be a picture of anything you want. Obviously, the more stupid the picture, the more amusing. I was playing one day and came across 3 players on my side, staring at a porn tag that someone had sprayed, I quickly sprayed a lovely picture of the one and only Alan Shearer on top of their porn, which didn't seem to please them, they shot the crap out of
Alan :) Counter-Strike is hard. Your lifespan can be in the seconds and then you're waiting for the game to start again. Choose your weapon and leg it to the action and the action is constant, there's very little quiet time in CS. No resting on a grassy knoll waiting to snipe the enemy, it's M16 a-go-go. Battlefield 2 on the other hand, is a full on war. The maps are massive and there's plenty of grassy knoll's. You can charge right into the action or slink round the periphery doing your own thing. Jump into a helicopter gunship, race across the map raining death down upon the enemy, before crashing as you attempt to land, when you should have parachuted instead. One of the wicked things about Battlefield 2 is being able to link up into squads of up to six people and then be able to talk to those people, especially when it's with Chris, Andy and James. It makes such a difference, you can even try to play using 'strategy'. When you're skimming across the water ready to land and assault the beach; the sun is setting and there's the bass rumble of explosions and the pock pock of gunfire in the distance, it's f**king awesome!! You can't believe how good this game looks and sounds at times. It's taking me ages to write this, I keep having to have a quick shoot :) For a proper review of Battlefield click here. Half-life 2 is the best single player fps I've played. I know I say that about every game I play, but in this case it's true. Better than Halo! Edge gave it 10/10, very rare indeed. It's so innovative, which is hard to find these days, everything around you can be interacted with and the gravity gun is something else. Jamie, you must get this game on xbox! I just need a decent fps on me psp now and a 360, mmmmmm.

Actually, check Mr. Ronaldinho's skills. After all he is da man. I've followed his work on the telly and i've seen him do some pretty nifty stuff with a leather ball.....until I saw the mpeg you are about to watch. Just watch it. I'm still undecided if it's real or computer generated. Does he really hit the crossbar 4 times?? Absolutely amazing!! I seem to be turning into Beadles about, but here for your viewing pleasure is a footy compilation that someone has put together and there's some great stuff on here. Remember the Roberto Carlos freekick against France, erm 98 I think in Le Tournoi? We won it, weird I know, winning..... Anyway enjoy!!

Back Dorm Boys

Chem has never been a Back Street Boys fan. It's a simple statement of fact. Could I be turned? Until yesterday I thought not, however I've been enjoying the blogsploits of a couple of young chinese chaps ( no this isn't a porn thing ). If you haven't come across the Back Dormitory Boys, then let me be the first to introduce you to some classic mime / karaoke. It's most amusing stuff, it's the facial expressions that are the best bit :) So first off is "I wanted it that way" which is my personal favourite and then their classic version of "As long as you love me". I'd heard of them somewhere before, but it was while looking on the marvellous Google Video search facility that I came across their work. Is there nothing that Google don't do well? You can even get audio and video blogs now! The audio one seems quite nifty, you can just phone up from your mobile and have a rant!

Skoopy and the wave

Just been pantsing around on the net, came across Skoopy.com again, hadn't been there for a while. Some very funny new videos and also videos that make you go 'jesus look at that, that's f**king awsome'. Have a look at this snowboarding fella, Unbelievable... But this vid is the best, check out the size of this wave, I've been trying to fing an mpeg of a wave this size after seeing the Sky advert at the cinema that's similer to this one.

Well, kind of...

I have 2 tracks on the album of the BBC TV series 'Ideal' staring Johnny Vegas. The first track 'Deep Blue', is one of the first tracks I ever did. It's played quite a bit in the 8th and last episode, still wierd hearing your music on the telly! The 2nd track is a song by the man Josh, which I remixed on a wackad fashion. A bit of it is played in every episode and it's also going to be used in the 2nd series. You can have a look at the track listing here. Massive respect goes out to a man like 'Graham Duff', who listened to loads of stuff I gave him and then slapped it on his Ideal series what he wrote :)

I love Brighton.

It's home.

I used to walk about, feeling part of a tolerant, laid-back and even cultured town. I would enjoy the buzz of lively chat and general sounds of a youthful seaside city.
Recently however, when I walk down western road, the buzz of lively chat, has become the buzz of a thousand morons. It's like I'm on a battlefield being assaulted on all sides by an army of the stupid. You know the type, dripping in Elizabeth Duke, their fatness oozing out of every opening in their clothes. 'ALRIGHT MATE, HUH, HUH, I KICKED THAT C**T IN THE FACE LAST NIGHT, HUH, UM' etc... that is the sound of western road...

The Dictionary says about the moron:

1. A stupid person; a dolt.
2. A person of mild mental retardation having a mental age of from 7 to 12 years and generally having communication and social skills enabling some degree of academic or vocational education.

Now, I'm not saying that they haven't always been there, of course they have, there's just more of them. We need some stupid people in the world obviously, who else am I going to beat at scrabble? I feel the time has come for a cull though. This may seem harsh, but walk through town and you will be looking for the nearest club quickly enough, I'm talking about the seal type of club obviously. So join me and lets rid this town of chaff. I say down with the spod, the halker, the mung and the land-whale.
